Crestabond M7-15 is an off-white, primer-less, universal, 2-part methacrylate adhesive. M7-15 is designed for bonding composites such as GRP, FRP, carbon fibre, polyester, DCPD modified vinyl esters and gelcoats. M7-15 can also bond thermoplastics such as acrylic, PVC, ABS and metals such as stainless, CRS and aluminium.
Scott Bader’s new generation of structural methacrylate adhesives meet the bonding requirements of most assembly operations. As a result this product demonstrates excellent impact, peel, shear, compressive strength and fatigue resistance properties across all bonded parts. As a result this product is useful for bonding, repairing and constructing kayaks, super yachts, buses, coaches, cars, trains, trucks, doors, windows, cladding, blades, housing, nacelles, motorhomes, caravans, tractors, diggers, off-road and combine harvesters plus many other applications.
The working time for M7-15 adhesive is 10-20 minutes and it has a fixture time of 30-45 minutes, making it suitable for intricate or larger applications. Once cured, at a workshop temperature of 18-25°C, this adhesive and others in the Crestabond range exhibit great strength and resistance to impact and compression, and are therefore ideal for more demanding environments and structures.
1. Ensure that there are no traces of oil, grease or dirt on surfaces to be bonded.
2. Dispense the adhesive via manual or pneumatic dispensing gun
3. Dispense initially onto a non-bonding surface until the mixed bead colour is uniform.
4. Mate parts within the working time of the product and clamp properly to prevent joint movement.
